Rafael González Custodio, Provincial Champion of Veterans +65 of Alicante

On May 17, the provincial chess championships organized by the Chess Federation of the Valencian Community concluded.

This year they were held in the town of Alcoy and around 25 players between the +50 and +65 age categories participated.

In his first year in the +65 category, Rafael González, player of the Aspe Ajedrez Club, achieved first place in the championship, obtaining a place for the next regional veterans championships that will be held from June 21 to 23 in the province of Castellón .

Also in his first year, Sergio Jiménez Peña debuts in the +50 category.
